Reviews
This hotel is stellar. From the moment i walked in, the staff were helping me with my bags and welcomed me warmly. Check in was very easy, and they even upgraded me to a better room with a balcony. I loved the view of the bay, and while the bay is public, as a hotel guest you get private elevator access down to the beach. The restaurant was fabulous; i had a lovely dinner the evening i arrived. Of the many places I’ve eaten at in Croatia, this by far was the best, as I’ve found a lot of Croatian food is quite salty for my taste, but the food at this restaurant had quite a nice balance of flavor. I definitely recommend the two truffle dishes, the gnocchi and risotto.
The pool was nice and had a view of the sea, and the “hot tub” while warm was not actually very hot. The sauna was great though, you had a dry and a steam sauna. I took a massage as i had slept wrong my first night, and i was not satisfied with the quality as my masseuse used her elbows and it was very painful. The woman who i assume is the spa manager was asking for my feedback and when she saw me give a few 4 stars, she asked what was wrong. I explained everything and she said to come back the next morning for another massage. I was a bit hesitant about it, but the second massage was a lot softer and i was very happy with their level of care and service.
The hotel itself is a brisk 15-20 min walk into the old town. You can opt for a bus, but it’s not very intuitive what the bus schedule is. I recommend you download the app as i was able to track the buses this way.
Truly wonderful experience overall, and thank you to everyone who made my first time in Croatia and the start of my holiday so lovely and memorable.
We ended up booking here last minute and got a deal because we booked 4+ nights, and honestly it was better than we anticipated. It was absolutely beautiful, we could see the beach and sea from our room, which was also great. The bed was large (even though our booking said it was a double - it was bigger!) and the room was cleaned multiple times a day. We really appreciated how great the breakfasts were (it's included), and going down to the beach was our favourite part, we did not want to leave. The concierge saved us on the day we were leaving because we had hired a driver (through an independent transfer service) and they didn't show up, so the concierge was able to get us a transfer at such short notice, thankfully. All in all, if we ever go back to Dubrovnik, we would start here again without question.
3 star service at 5 star rates
Definitely not the experience we were expecting… from the small things like people not greeting you when you enter the hotel, unclean plates at breakfast, waiters just dropping menus on the table when you ask for one, toiletries not properly replenished and no turn down service to not-so-small things like your room not being made by 7:30pm, waiters at the bar being downright rude, night manager not giving a damn about your concerns.
The beach club provides a wonderful beach experience but it is definitely not worth it. Location is quite inconvenient as well. This hotel and their under trained staff are a far cry from providing a 5 star experience.
We had the most amazing stay at this hotel. The rooms are immaculately clean and all the hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located about 20mins walk from the Old Town, which is easily done as it’s all downhill, but I would recommend getting a bus or taxi back up the hill!
There are two restaurants and one bar at the hotel. The beach restaurant is open during the day and serves good lunch. The upstairs restaurant and bar has the most amazing view and even though the food and drinks are a little expensive they are definitely worth it.
My only minor complaint is that there was no outdoor swimming pool at the hotel. Guests do have access to a small but beautiful private (pebble) beach as well as an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. It would have been nice though to be able to swim and relax outside away from the beach. But again, this was only a minor downside for us.
Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with decor that was elegant and calming - we loved the crisp bedsheets and the wonderful housekeeping team, who all worked so hard. We are still dreaming about our room's large terrace, …
The Bellevue has breathtaking views of the cove below and the coastline. The rooms are elegant and luxurious. The Vapor restaurant has delicious food- the Adriatic white fish, the seafood gnocchi and the delicious pumpkin soup plus the cocktails
First impressions not great as our room had an obstructed view of the ocean. Only 2 with that obstruction in whole hotel. Likely because it was made by a web hotel booking site? The cove was glorious and swimming in the am and after a day of walking was glorious
Without doubt one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. Everything was absolutely superb. The staff were all brilliant: friendly and helpful. I can fault nothing at all.
